F.A.Q.

Well this page is to answer some of the questions I have been asked over the years. If there is something I am missing please don't hesitate to send me an e-mail.

What type of work do you do?

Other than being a reporter I am strictly a still photographer. I usually do single girl shoots only and while "content exchanges" are not something I normally try for I have done a few when necessary.

How did you end up in this line of work?

In all honesty this wasn't something I ever really considered doing when I was young. I played around with a camera in High School but didn’t really give it much thought as a hobby or occupation. About 15 years ago I was just your average guy

who didn't even own a camera. Then in the fall of 1991 I got an invitation from Ms. Britt Morgan to a "Fan Appreciation Party" in Las Vegas during the Consumer Electronics Show. In the invitation she told me to "bring a camera". So I went out and bought a Minolta 35mm camera (don't remember the model) and off I went to Las Vegas. After shooting the five woman show at the party and all the other lovely ladies at CES I started to to think maybe photography was something I might like to do. Go figure.

At that time I was living on the East Coast so with the exception of once a year at CES my camera pretty much stayed in it's case. Then 4 years ago I finally managed to get myself sent to Southern California and things started to change. Most notably was that I had the opportunity to shoot a lot more often and I even managed to find a studio to shoot in on some very rare occasions.

Even with all of that I probably wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for a little bit of dumb luck. One Wednesday night I was surfing the web and I happened upon a web site called Adult DVD Talk. Though I was a fan I am not in the habit of visiting adult sites but somehow I found out that there was a "chat" going on with a lovely young woman I happened to remember named Tina Tyler.

So off I went to check out this thing called a "forum" and a "chat" for the very first time. What I found at the site was a fairly large group of intelligent people able to have a conversation about anything adult or otherwise. I also found out that the site was run by a lovely young woman named Steph and that they were planning on having an "official" Tina Tyler chat in a couple of weeks to celebrate the release of the "Tina Tyler's Favorites" movies on DVD. Now Steph had been using a couple of set shots of Tina to advertise the chat but there was one picture of her that I was particularly proud of so I sent it to her. The next thing I know it is up on the site. Well one thing led to another and I ended up with a gallery of pictures on the site and a certain young web mistress who keeps pushing me to do more with my photography.

Now I still don't shoot as often as I would like but I fit it in when I can. I also do interviews, reviews, on the set pieces and an occasional article for Adult DVD Talk again when time permits.

What type of cameras do you use?

I shoot with Nikon equipment. I am not biased against Canon but after all these years it would just cost too much to switch over even if I wanted to. My two main 35mm cameras are a Nikon N80S and a 6006. Though I am going mostly digital now and use a Nikon D200 with an Nikon D100 as my back-up. I have been asked a lot why I don’t go for the higher end Nikon models and the answer is simple. I rarely use half the features on my current cameras so I have never seen the point in spending the money to get one with even more features I won’t use.

What type of pictures will I be able to find here?

You will not find any hard core images on this site and very few full nudes here. The recent changes in the Federal record keeping laws have forced me to move them off of the site until I get a better understanding of the rules and regulations.

Can I buy copies of your pictures?

Not at this point. I am not set up for that at the moment but it is something I am looking into for the future once this site is up fully and I have more time to devote to it. Nor do I sell my shots as content to other web sites so if you see them somewhere let me know.

If you are looking for content for your web site then I suggest you go check out Adultcontentnews. It's a great resource for finding content you can license for web sites.

Why do you have so few galleries?

Well I could give you the long drawn out legal answer but suffice it to say there is this little record keeping law referred to as 2257 that if you don't plan for can get you into some serious trouble. When I first started shooting I didn't bother with releases because I never thought about a web site so suffice it to say I can't use a lot of the stuff I have shot in the past. I am slowly changing that but it will take me some time.

Why porn stars?

In the future you will probably come across some women here who aren’t porn stars but they tend to be my subjects of choice at the moment. Part of that is because they were the first women I ever seriously shot and part of it is because I now know so many of them. But the main reason I still take pictures of them is that it is easier to be creative with them. I have shot several “non-porn star” models over the years and even the professional ones still didn’t give me the same feeling of comfort I get when shooting someone who works in the industry. Even when doing a shoot that doesn’t involve nudity at all you can still tell the difference between the women and the way they handle the situation. It is also nice to know that you can’t really shock your model because for them this is an easy day.

How do you decide who to shoot?

What usually happens is I meet them at a show, on a set or at some other event and I like their personality. Now before you laugh remember there are lots of beautiful women in this industry and their personalities is usually what sets them apart from each other. So if I like their personality then I will see about setting up a shoot with them. If I don't then it really doesn't matter to me how big a "star" they are I won't try to shoot with them. I am not yet to the point where I will shoot someone just to fill a demand though I am a firm believer in the phrase "never say never".

Can you introduce me to?

No, so don’t ask.

Do you need an assistant?

Not at this point and time.
